Bill Waters is a retired Associate Professor of Criminal Justice, Northern Michigan University with 26 years of teaching experience.

He received specialized training in Conflict Resolution/Mediation from:
1) Michigan SCAO approved 40 hour community mediator training, 1991
2) Michigan SCAO Mediation Train-the trainer in 1991
3) Mennonite Peace Center, Lombard, Illinois 1993- certificate in mediation practice
4) 40 hours of domestic relations mediation training with Zena Zumeta at Southern Illinois University.

He has specialized experience as a mediator for the Marquette County Circuit Court and as volunteer mediator for the Marquette-Alger Resolution Services (MARS). He received continuing education credit hours in mediation skills and issues from the University of Wisconsin by way of mediation workshops and conferences.

He has conducted over 11 SCAO approved mediator trainings in the state of Michigan and various accredited and modified training for police and corrections agencies both nationally - Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, the FBI Academy - and internationally - Ireland, the Czech Republic,South Africa. He is a past founding member of the Mediation Institute of Southern Africa.

Wanda Joseph has been a trainer of conflict resolution and communication skills since 1989.

She received the 40 hour community mediation training from the Conflict Resolution Services, Traverse City, in 1994, with Tom Shea and Darylene Shea as trainers. She completed the 40 hour Domestic Relations Mediation Training from Zena Zumeta and 4 hour domestic violence screening training from Ellen Craine Rotsker in 2003. She has participated in multiple advanced and specialty mediation trainings including transformative mediation training, elder guardianship, restorative justice, and special education mediation.

She was co-trainer for the 40 hour MCR2.411 general civil mediation training with Warren Hills, April 2007, for Conflict Resolution Services, Traverse City. The training was held with the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa Chippewa Indians at their tribal court, Peshawbestown.

She is on the civil and domestic relations mediation rosters for the 19th Circuit Court, Manistee and Benzie Counties and 51st Court in Mason County, and a mediator for the United States Postal Service and US Forest Service. She has been a volunteer mediator for both the CRS center in Traverse City and the Westshore Dispute Resolution Center in Muskegon since 1994.

In 2003, she opened a private practice, Creative Conflict Resolution. She has mediated a full range of mediations, completing over 1000 hours of mediation, including over 500 hours of general civil mediations.

Bill and Wanda completed two, 40 hour, trainings as a training team in June 2009. One for the Peer Support Specialist Program and the second training for the Conflict Resolution Services Center, Traverse City.
