Parent - Child Mediation

The concept of childhood, and how to raise children, changes with each generation.

How many of us dread those words escaping from our lips:
"It wasn't like this when I was your age........"
"If I'd behaved like that with my parents I'd have .........."
"Mirror, mirror on the wall - I've become my Mother after all......"

Should a parent be a friend? How much discipline is too much? When can you ever 'reason' with your teenager? When is a child truly 'out of control'? When is a child on the border, or past the line, of being in an abusive environment?

With more single parent families, blended families, grandparents becoming primary parents, older relatives moving back to live with adult children ~ the recipe for conflict can simmer and explode.
